The smooth and graceful movements of Guaire are nicely complemented by the intense powerful force of Jake as they earn their green stripes.
Congratulations to both boys on their fine achievement.
Congratulations to Lori and Ben for earning their yellow belts. They performed very well, especially in their ability to stay synchronized during Chon-Ji.
Neither has practiced martial arts before and have worked very hard to earn their rank. We are very proud of their commitment and determination.
In this video, we see Dylan and Jennifer testing together. During class, we practice with our classmates next to us. Maintaining concentration with someone performing a different pattern is challenging. With the pressure of a promotion test, the challenge is even greater. We were very pleased with the confidence and performance of Jennifer and Dylan.
Dylan demonstrates a rear leg side kick to break a board. Please note that these are not children’s boards, these are 3/4 inch pine.
Jennifer Butler had the challenge of breaking with a lead leg…
Theo Carbone and Dylan Windsor, testing for their yellow belt, demonstrates basic blocks, punches and kicks during the July 2009 test. They also perform the pattern Chun-Ji, the first of many patterns they will have to achieve as they begin their journey with Taekwon-do.

The Hill family and Terri Graig demonstrate basic kicking, blocking, and punching techniques during Oneonta Taekwon-do promotion test in March, 2009.
Yellow belt students are expected to demonstrate self-defense techniques numbered 1-6. These techniques emphasize arm and hand positioning as well as concepts of leverage and control. While they may look simple to the outsider, learning these techniques and mastering the nuances of wrist locking take years to master. These are very effective skills to possess in self-defense situations.
