Oneonta Taekwon-do Seminar 6/21/08

On Saturday, June 21, Instructor Raymond Mannion will offer a brief seminar from 9am until 11:30am. All Taekwon-do students are urged to participate. The general public is welcome to attend.

The purpose of the seminar is to educate our students on the history of Taekwon-do with attention to the teachings of Grandmaster Suk Jun Kim. In preparation for summer camp, upcoming tests, and future participation in Taekwon-do International events, it is important for our students to have knowledge about certain aspects of our history.

The seminar is designed to be part lecture and part practical. The instructor will lead warmup exercises promptly at 9am. Some of the topics covered will include:

  • School leadership, Etiquette and Discipline
  • Breathing
  • Grandmaster Kim teachings – observations, quotations, examples
  • Theory of Power

These topics are generally reserved for Black-belt-only classes. However, as the future leaders of our school, it is important for all students to attend this event. The seminar will be held annually. Next year, it will only be open to Green belt and above and not to the general public.

A $5 donation is requested to cover the cost of food and boards but is not required.

The event will take place at the Oneonta Taekwon-do Do-Jang located at 12 S. Main Street, Oneonta, NY 13820. The school is next to the Eighth Note. Please call 607-431-8810 if you have questions or visit the Oneonta Taekwon-do website for more information.
